Radiology Technologists use x-ray equipment to obtain images of the body
interpreted by a Radiologist and are responsible for preparing patients for the
exam, moving and instructing the patient into the proper position, correctly
operating the equipment, and obtaining a high-quality image while minimizing
radiation dose to the patient. Radiology Technologists may go on to specialize
in more specific imaging techniques such as bone densitometry,
cardiovascular-interventional radiography, computer tomography, mammography,
magnetic resonance imaging and nuclear medicine.  

A caregiver in this position works part-time days 7:00 a. m. – 3:30 p. m. +
on-call with with every other weekend and holiday requirements and the ability
to float to CCF Mentor location.

A caregiver who excels in this role will

* Perform general radiology exams, portable exams and fluoroscopic
procedures.  

* Produce quality images for interpretation with accuracy and without delay.  

* Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.  

* Ensure patient comfort and safety during and after the exam.  

* Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams to ensure
understanding and cooperation.  

* Maintain documentation.  

* Address equipment malfunctions, notify management and report malfunctions to
the help desk and PACS administrator.  

* Assist with scheduling procedures, monitor and determine priority of
patients, and process billing.  

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include

* Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology  

* Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic
Technologists and in good standing  

* Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist  

* Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification  

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include

* One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist.

Physical Requirements

* Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
* Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and
manipulate equipment daily.

Key Responsibilities

Perform general radiology, portable, and fluoroscopic exams while ensuring high-quality imaging and patient safety. Manage image archiving via PACS and coordinate patient scheduling and billing processes.

Requirements

Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology school with ARRT registration and current state licensure. BLS certification is required, and one year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist is preferred.
