Inpatient Psychiatrist - PRN Weekends

• Location: Pacific Grove Hospital, 5900 Brockton Ave, Riverside, CA 92506
• We are currently seeking to add an Inpatient Psychiatrist to join our team!

About the Role

This role is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization and/or medication.

Pacific Grove Hospital is a 68-bed acute psychiatric and chemical dependency hospital. The one-story building is situated on 4.5 acres in the heart of Riverside, California. Our private hospital campus treats voluntary patients on three units. All of our units are self-contained with private courtyards, laundry facilities, patient lounges, and semi-private rooms.

• Caseload: 1.5 units; 34 beds
• Schedule: Saturday and Sunday, flexible schedule during business hours (2 weekends per month; or more if requested)
• On Call Schedule: Friday 5pm to Monday 7am
• Compensation: 1099 Contractor; $3500 per weekend; Per eval and per follow up

Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing clinical services to patients at the facility
• Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures
• Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations
• Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders
• Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications
• Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, documents services and information in a timely manner
• Maintain confidential documentation, compliance and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) REQUIRED
• One or more years’ post graduate degree practice preferred
• Licensed in the state in which the facility(s) operate
• Licenses/Certifications
• Board Certification or Board Eligibility in psychiatry

Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.
