Job Description

School-Based SLP | Meaningful Work, Exceptional Support

Worcester, MA | In Person | 2026–2027 School Year

Meaningful Work & Exceptional Support

You care deeply about your students. You also deserve a career that leaves room for your own wellbeing.

At Chatterboxes, we’re building a more sustainable path for Speech-Language Pathologists through meaningful mentorship, clinical collaboration, and a culture where asking for support is encouraged.

We’re seeking an SLP to support primarily elementary-aged students in a specialized therapeutic school setting. This opportunity offers meaningful work in functional communication, AAC, and interdisciplinary care, with access to people and resources that help you grow.

About the Role

You’ll work with students whose communication profiles range from nonspeaking AAC users to verbal students developing language and social communication skills. Many students also need individualized support for emotional regulation, sensory needs, and behavior.

The role is primarily treatment-focused, with communication support integrated into classrooms and daily routines. You’ll provide push-in, individual, and small-group services as appropriate, helping students communicate in the moments that matter to them.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Delivering speech-language services aligned with student IEPs
  • Supporting AAC, total communication, language, and social communication
  • Collaborating with educators, related service providers, behavioral staff, and families
  • Monitoring progress and completing service documentation
  • Contributing to IEP goals, progress reports, and team meetings as assigned
  • Adapting therapy to students’ communication, sensory, and regulation needs
  • What Support Actually Looks Like
  • A clinical sounding board.
  • When you’re wondering why an approach isn’t connecting with a student, you can bring the question to our clinical team and work through ideas together.
  • Guidance as you build AAC skills.
  • Access clinical resources and consultation as you learn about a student’s communication system, model its use, and help make communication accessible throughout the day.
  • People to problem-solve with.

Collaborate with educators, mental health clinicians, BCBAs, and related service providers. An additional SLP supports evaluations and consultation within the setting.

  • A team during challenging moments.
  • Students
  • A professional home where connection matters!

We care about how it feels to do this work. Our Sanctuary Model creates space for clinicians to feel heard, build confidence, and stay connected—even when working in different schools or providing services virtually.

Our culture includes:

Monthly 1:1s with your Sanctuary Leader: Time to process challenges, celebrate wins, and reflect on your wellbeing and professional growth.

Clinical collaboration: Fellow SLPs to exchange ideas, ask questions, and work through clinical decisions together.

Leadership that listens: An SLP founder and clinical leaders who stay connected to clinicians’ experiences.

Optional opportunities to connect: A growing mix of coffee conversations, regional gatherings, and virtual connection opportunities that respect your time and life outside work.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver speech-language services to elementary-aged students in a therapeutic setting, including push-in, individual, and small-group sessions. Collaborate with educators, behavioral staff, and families to monitor progress and contribute to IEP goals and documentation.

Requirements

The role requires a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist to provide communication support and therapeutic services. Candidates should be capable of working with diverse communication profiles, including AAC users and students with sensory or behavioral needs.
