Help People Find Their Voice

At Community Access Unlimited (CAU), we believe everyone deserves to be heard. We're looking for a passionate speech-language pathologist to join our team in a full-time, community-based role supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).

You'll evaluate and treat the people we serve wherever they live, work, and spend their day: at our day program, in their homes, and out in the community. A big part of this role is augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), helping people get the right communication device and use it confidently every day.

  • Title: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
  • Location: Union County, NJ (travel between day program, homes, and community sites)
  • Status: Full-time
  • Pay: $80,000
  • Schedule: Mon-Fri flexibility needed

What You'll Do

Provide Therapy and Evaluations

  • Deliver speech-language therapy at our day program, in people's homes, and at community sites.
  • Create individualized treatment plans built around each person's needs and preferences.
  • Partner with our Assistive Technology team on full AAC evaluations, including feature matching, device trials, and report writing.
  • Order, deliver, set up, and customize AAC devices.

Build Communication Everywhere

  • Train staff, families, and peers on how to use AAC devices and support communication.
  • Work with each person's support team so strategies carry over across home, day program, and community.
  • Train staff on communication supports and check that recommendations are being followed.
  • Work with community organizations to expand the reach of our services.

Keep Services Running Smoothly

  • Keep timely, accurate clinical documentation in our electronic health record.
  • Coordinate approvals for speech and assistive technology services with each person's support coordinator.
  • Make sure assessments are signed and filed for Medicaid billing.
  • Join team meetings and suggest ways to improve services.

What You Bring

  • Master's degree in speech-language pathology.
  • Current New Jersey speech-language pathology license
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort with computers and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Valid driver's license and a car for work travel..
