Responsibilities
This is a unique opportunity to join Mayo Clinic's Department of Orthopedic Surgery in a 1:1 surgeon/Physician Assistant model supporting a busy hip and knee total joint practice.
The PA will work closely with the surgeon across both the operating room and clinic, providing continuity throughout the patient's surgical care. The role includes a combination of OR and clinic responsibilities, as well as occasional weeknight and weekend call shared among the APPs and residents.
This position offers the opportunity to be an integral part of a collaborative orthopedic team while caring for patients throughout their joint replacement journey.
During the selection process you may participate in an OnDemand (pre-recorded) interview that you can complete at your convenience. During the OnDemand interview, a question will appear on your screen, and you will have time to consider each question before responding.
You will have the opportunity to re-record your answer to each question – Mayo Clinic will only see the final recording. The complete interview will be reviewed by a Mayo Clinic staff member and you will be notified of next steps.
Qualifications
Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the AZ State Board of Medical Practice.
Additional Qualifications
- New graduate PAs may be considered. Greater than one year of orthopedic experience is preferred.
- Active BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required
