Job Title: School Based Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
Employment Type: Part Time(2 days/16 hrs.)--Clinician can choose which days
Location: School Site in Paramus, New Jersey
Pay Rate/Benefits: $70-$80 an hour on a W-2 with PTO/Sick Time and other part time employee benefits that include Employee Assistance Program, Referral Program, life insurance, and more.

Role Summary
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) provides psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and care coordination for child, adolescent, and/or adult clients (based on experience and credentialing). Care is delivered in accordance with New Jersey regulations, InSite clinical protocols, and collaborative practice agreements.
You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team (psychiatrists, therapists, care coordination, medical reception, and leadership) to ensure timely access, evidence-based treatment, and exceptional outcomes.
Essential Responsibilities
Clinical Care
Conduct initial psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits (in-person and telehealth, as clinically appropriate;
Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications within scope; provide medication monitoring, psychoeducation, and safety planning.
Review external physicals, labs, and screenings obtained off-site to ensure medical needs are integrated into treatment planning.
Provide timely refills within policy; escalate high-acuity cases and coordinate higher levels of care when indicated.
Documentation & Compliance
Complete accurate, clinically appropriate documentation in the EHR within required timelines.
Maintain problem lists, med lists, allergies, CQM items, and measurement-based care instruments.
Follow New Jersey APN collaborative protocols and federal/state prescribing laws (CDS/DEA); comply with HIPAA/FERPA in school settings.
Teamwork & Communication
Participate in case consultation, multidisciplinary huddles, and care coordination with internal and external partners
Support reasonable administrative responsibilities (e. g., forms, prior auth input, brief chart reviews).
Quality & Outcomes
Practice culturally responsive, trauma-informed care; incorporate clinical guidelines and decision support.
Meet or exceed productivity and quality metrics.
Tech: EHR proficiency (Avon experience a plus), basic Office/Workspace tools (Docs/Sheets/Slides), secure email/telehealth workflows.
Compliance & Standards
Abide by InSite Health code of ethics, policies & procedures, and all local/state/federal regulations.
Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA (and FERPA where applicable in schools).
Participate in required trainings, supervision/consultation, and competency assessments.

Requirements

Candidates must be a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with the ability to practice in accordance with New Jersey regulations. Proficiency in EHR systems and a commitment to culturally responsive, trauma-informed care are required.
