Job Description
Physical Therapists Who Teach Yoga or Pilates: Your Clients, Now Your Patients
PeteHealth brings physical therapy into yoga and Pilates studios. We’re looking for California-licensed physical therapists who already teach yoga or Pilates and want to treat clients in the studios where they work. Same room, same you, now covered by your clients’ health insurance.

The idea in one line: Insurance doesn’t pay for fitness, but it does pay for physical therapy. When a client has a prescription and a plan of care, your session is billed to their commercial health plan as a standard PT office visit, and they pay their usual copay.
How It Works
A client wants to get stronger, rehab an injury, or improve how they move. They might be in your class, a private client, or someone Pete sends your way.
They get a prescription from their physician, or from a telemed visit Pete arranges. Pete verifies their insurance and handles intake.
You evaluate, set the plan of care, and treat in your studio, in the client’s home, or in your home.
Pete bills the plan, collects, and keeps the records. You’re paid by direct deposit for each covered visit.
What You’ll Do
- Evaluate clients with diagnosed conditions, set the plan of care, and provide physical therapy for pain or injury
- Draw on your yoga and Pilates expertise to guide clinically appropriate care
- Treat clients in the studio, in their homes, or in your own home
- Work with the studio owner to introduce PeteHealth to their community (we’ll support you and the owner through setup)
- Write standard clinical notes in Pete’s system (we train you on it)
- Keep teaching your classes as you do now
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted physical therapist license in California
- Currently working as a yoga and/or Pilates instructor at a studio in California
- Yoga and/or Pilates certification [specify, e. g., RYT-200, Balanced Body, STOTT]
A relationship with your studio, or the ability to approach the owner about partnering with PeteHealth. We’ll help from there.
Nice to Have
- Experience with orthopedic, post-surgical, or chronic pain populations
- Comfort with insurance-based documentation
- Reformer or apparatus experience
What We Offer
Help getting set up in your studio. Once you’ve talked with your studio owner, our studio partnerships team can walk them through how it works and answer their questions. We set the studio up as a treatment location and give you a flyer with a code so clients can sign up.
Credentialing under Pete. We credential you under PeteHealth’s insurance contracts, so you never enroll with a payer yourself
Everything around the session handled. Insurance verification, prescriptions, intake, billing, collections, and compliant records
Direct Deposit for Each Covered Visit
- What stays yours: your classes, your studio, your clients, and your schedule. Covered sessions go where you put them
- A way to grow your practice within the studio community you already serve
- Patient referrals. Pete’s therapists refer at-home patients who are ready for a studio
- Flexible hours. You choose how much time to devote to covered sessions
