Description
Evaluates and processes medication orders considering the patient’s diagnosis, allergies, current medications, and lab data. Provides support to the nursing and medical staffs on medication related issues. Admixes IV’s and checks work performed by the technical staff. Assumes a clinical role by working on the patient care units evaluating medication therapy and conducting patient counseling.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Evaluates medication orders and enters into Meditech. Admixes IV solutions and performs other compounding. Works out on the nursing units in a clinical role. Fills and distributes controlled substances. Supports the medical and nursing staffs with medication related issues. Performs other duties as required. Requirements EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS B. S. or Pharm. D. in Pharmacy NM Pharmacist License

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

One year of hospital experience as a pharmacist preferred. Note: Job description available upon request.
