The Counselor Assistant supports the multidisciplinary treatment team by aiding primary counselors with client admissions, counseling sessions, crisis intervention, and treatment planning under supervision. This role also involves maintaining facility safety and security through monitoring, searches, client supervision during activities, and completing required documentation in the EMR system.
Minimum qualifications include a High School diploma or GED, intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and a commitment to ethical principles for substance abuse counselors. Prior work experience in a substance use disorder treatment program and a valid New York State driver's license are preferred.
