Job Description
General Overview
Conducts evaluations of hearing and recommends treatment to improve or conserve
hearing ability.
Essential Responsibilities
* Identify, test, diagnose and manage disorders of human hearing, balance,
tinnitus; interpret results of behavioral and objective measures. (40%)
* Counsel patients about hearing health and the possible need for
treatment/management. (10%)
* Assess the candidacy of persons with hearing loss for hearing aids and
provide fitting, programming, and audiologic rehabilitation to ensure the
best possible outcomes. (20%)
* Perform assessment and nonmedical management of tinnitus. (20%)
* Counsel and educate patients and families/caregivers on the psychosocial
adjustments of hearing loss. (10%)
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum
* Master's Degree OR Doctorate in Audiology
* Current PA Audiologist License
* Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A)
* CPR – American Heart Association
* Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
* Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
* Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Preferred
* 1-3 years hearing evaluation and management experience including dispensing
and management of hearing assistive devices
* 1-3 years experience in a healthcare setting
