Physician Consultants of Georgia / Midtown Vascular Center

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner with a background in Nephrology to join our growing clinical team. The ideal candidate is confident working independently, experienced in the management of patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, and comfortable providing care in both hospital and outpatient clinical settings.

Position Responsibilities

The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing comprehensive nephrology care, including

  • Conducting hospital rounds and managing nephrology patients in the inpatient setting
  • Performing initial and follow-up in-office patient visits
  • Evaluating and managing patients with CKD, AKI, hypertension, electrolyte abnormalities, and other renal conditions
  • Managing and following patients requiring hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis
  • Reviewing laboratory results, diagnostic studies, medications, and treatment plans
  • Ordering appropriate laboratory testing, imaging, medications, and other treatments within scope of practice
  • Completing timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Coordinating patient care with nephrologists, hospitalists, dialysis facilities, primary care providers, and other members of the healthcare team
  • Providing patient and family education regarding renal disease, medications, dialysis, diet, and treatment plans
  • Assisting with continuity of care between hospital discharge and outpatient nephrology follow-up

Qualifications

Applicants should have an active Nurse Practitioner license and current national board certification. Previous nephrology experience is strongly preferred, particularly experience managing renal patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

The successful candidate should possess strong clinical judgment, excellent communication and documentation skills, and the ability to effectively manage a diverse nephrology patient population. Experience with hospital rounding and dialysis management is highly desirable.
