Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Family Medicine

. This contract, on-site position offers an opportunity to provide high-quality primary care to patients across all age groups while maintaining continuity of care within a supportive clinical environment.

As a Locum Family Medicine Physician, you will deliver comprehensive medical services including preventive care, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions, health screenings, and patient education. You will work closely with clinical staff to ensure efficient, patient-centered care that meets the practice's standards of excellence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient examinations and medical histories
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions across all age groups
• Provide preventive care, health screenings, and immunizations
• Develop and manage individualized treatment plans for patients
• Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests as clinically indicated
• Document patient encounters accurately and in compliance with regulations
• Refer patients to specialists and coordinate ongoing care when necessary
• Educate patients on disease prevention, healthy lifestyles, and treatment options
• Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals
• Respond to patient inquiries and follow up on test results and care plans
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical guidelines and best practices

Requirements

• Valid and unrestricted medical license (MD or DO) to practice in the jurisdiction
• Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine
• Associate-level clinical experience in primary or family care settings
• Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Excellent communication skills with patients and colleagues
• Commitment to patient-centered, compassionate care
• Ability to adapt quickly to new practice environments as a locum provider
• Preferred: Experience with locum or contract-based medical practice
• Preferred: Familiarity with the regional healthcare landscape in Saint Stephen

Schedule: 4-day workweek, 8-hour shifts

No call required

Setting: Outpatient

Daily Volume: ~20 patients

Patient Population: Ages 12+, predominantly geriatric/older adult patient base

Must be board-certified or board-eligible
