Job Description
The Lighthouse ABA's School Services department is looking for a BCBA to join our team conducting assessments for students receiving DOE-funded, in-school ABA services. This is a highly visible, clinically rich role for a BCBA who wants to make a direct, measurable impact on students' access to services.
What You'll Do
Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and skills assessments for students in school settings
- Travel to NYC schools and clients' homes for in-person observation and assessment sessions
- Serve as an expert witness, testifying at Impartial Hearings as needed
Collaborate closely with parents, the School Services team, RBTs, and case managers to translate assessment findings into actionable recommendations
Prepare clear, well-organized assessment reports suitable for DOE review and Impartial Hearing documentation
What We're Looking For
- Current BCBA certification (required)
- Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) in New York State (required)
- Based in, or able to reliably travel throughout, the NYC area
Experience within the NYC DOE system - familiarity with DOE processes, clearances, and school-based service delivery strongly preferred
Comfort and willingness to testify at Impartial Hearings
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write reports and testify clearly under scrutiny
