Job Description
This is a 40 hour/week exempt position with daytime hours.
The MSPCA-Angell at Nevins Farm in Methuen, MA is offering a unique opportunity
for an experienced veterinarian to lead our progressive veterinary team serving
both community animals in need and shelter animals.
The Position
Our clinic provides medical care to the animals at our Nevins Farm Adoption
Center in Methuen as well as low cost spay/neuter and acute outpatient

The position reports to the Director of Veterinary Medicine & Community
Initiatives and offers exposure to a diversity of surgical and medical cases
rarely seen in private practice, with an emphasis on high volume spay/neuter,
urgent outpatient surgery, and infectious disease control. Nevins Farm also
offers the unique opportunity to provide care for the shelter animals under the
care of our farm team. Joining MSPCA-Angell at Nevins Farm means being part of
a dynamic, passionate team from various specialties – including veterinarians,
techs, animal behavior, adoptions, foster, and operations.
As the Lead Shelter Veterinarian, in addition to providing hands-on care to
shelter and community pets, you’ll be supporting new and experienced
veterinarians, fostering a positive culture, and collaborating with Lead
Veterinarians at our other locations to have a key voice in protocol and policy
development.
The salary range for the lead position is generally $150,000 - $180,000 and can
vary based on skill level and experience.
Applicant Requirements
Our ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience as a veterinarian
in shelter and community medicine practice, with a comfort in managing shelter
population health and performing high-quality, high-volume spay-neuter and other
soft tissue and dental procedures.
