Job Description

Position Overview

BayCare Medical Group, the leading multi-specialty group in the Tampa Bay area, is seeking a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon to join our well-established and growing practice.

The clinic is based at St. Joseph’s Children's Hospital in Tampa, Florida, with surgical cases performed at our satellite hospital locations throughout the region. This will provide access to multiple facilities, ensuring the best setting for each patient’s needs.

In 2030, St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital will open a new state-of-the-art facility, further enhancing our ability to provide exceptional pediatric orthopedic care.

Our collaborative environment includes a highly skilled team of orthopedic surgeons, advanced practice providers, pediatric subspecialists, and a supportive multidisciplinary team.

You will have access to advanced surgical suites, dedicated OR time, and the latest surgical technology to manage a wide range of pediatric orthopedic cases, including multiple fracture types. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected group with a robust referral network and strong community presence.

We are especially seeking a surgeon with a special interest in hip arthroscopy and hip surgery. We are willing to provide training and mentorship for candidates eager to develop these skills.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat pediatric orthopedic conditions, including trauma and multiple fracture types.
  • Perform surgical and non-surgical interventions using advanced surgical technology.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of pediatric specialists, physicians, and APPs.
  • Share call coverage equally among five surgeons, including an adult traumatologist.
  • Participate in practice growth and development within a supportive, collegial environment.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an accredited orthopedic surgery residency and fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
  • Florida medical license (or ability to obtain).
  • Special interest in hip arthroscopy and hip surgery preferred — willing to train if interested.
  • Strong commitment to high-quality, compassionate patient care.
  • This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of pediatric orthopedic care in the Tampa Bay area while joining a collegial and well-supported team.
