Job Description

Join Our Passionate Team at Palo Alto Therapy!

Are you a therapist who enjoys working with a varied caseload — individuals, teens, adults, and couples? At Palo Alto Therapy, we're a therapist-owned practice with a collaborative, supportive culture, and we're looking for someone who's comfortable and enthusiastic about working across multiple populations.

Our administrative team handles scheduling, billing, and marketing so you can stay focused on what you do best: great clinical work. Clients are carefully matched to therapists based on clinical interest and fit — so you're working with people you're genuinely passionate about helping.

Why Work with Us?

  • Competitive Compensation: $95–$110/hour (part-time) or $90,000 salary (full-time) as a W-2 employee
  • Serious About Training: Weekly consultation and skills groups plus a minimum of 18 CE credits per year — provided at no cost to you
  • CBT & OCD Certification: Full certification training provided through Palo Alto Therapy
  • Couples Support: Couples-specific consultation group and supervision for therapists building or expanding their couples caseload
  • Great Client Matching: We take the time to match you with clients you're excited to work with
  • No Admin Hassles: We handle scheduling, billing, intake, and marketing so you can focus on clients
  • In-Person & Telehealth: Hybrid options available depending on role and location
  • Community-Centered Practice: A genuine team culture — not just a room rental with a shared waiting area
  • Active California license required (LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC)
  • Experience working with individuals, teens, and couples required
  • Training in Gottman Method or EFT preferred
  • Comfortable using evidence-based approaches (CBT and other modalities)
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset
  • Available at least 2 afternoons or evenings per week (weekends a plus)
  • Locations: Palo Alto, Menlo Park, San Jose, CA | In-person and hybrid options available

Full-Time

  • Health insurance including dental, vision, and life (we cover 50% of your premium)

Client Matching Based on Your Clinical Interests

What Therapists Say: "PAT is a very positive work environment. The practice goes above and beyond to offer regular consultation and training opportunities and promote a supportive culture. The care coordinators and administrative team are exceptional, allowing therapists to focus on their clinical work. One of the best places I have worked."

"I love that you get the feel of working in a private practice but still have co-workers around you. Everyone shares resources and they are team oriented. PAT really tries to match you with the clients you want to work with and are passionate about. There is so much opportunity for training."

"The kindness and thoughtfulness of everyone at PAT has been something I'm not used to from past jobs. I can't imagine working somewhere else."
