JOB OVERVIEW
Profession: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Specialty: CRNA - General Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Duluth, MN Service Setting: Outpatient Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: Sep 01, 2026 – Ongoing Shift Schedule: Mon – Fri: 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts; Sat & Sun: 12 or 16-hour shifts Reason for Coverage: Supplemental PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: All ages (adults, pediatrics, neonates) Average Daily Volume: 2 longer cases or 3-4 shorter cases per 8-hour day on average Case Mix: General surgery, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Cardiac, Thoracic, Vascular, Obstetrics, GI, EP, MRI, CT FACILITY INFORMATION Trauma Level: Level I EMR System: Epic PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes REQUIRED PROCEDURES Required: General Anesthesia Adult Pediatric Neonatal Trauma Spinal Anesthesia Regional Anesthesia Surgery Obstetrical Cases Neurosurgical cases (Head, Spine) Open Heart Anesthesia Thoracic cases (except open heart) Complex vascular cases (except open heart) Complex orthopedic cases Ventilation management Evaluation and management of acute volume/BP issues Arterial Line placement
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Board: Board Certified required (Certified) Licenses: Minnesota RN license required Certifications: CPR, BCLS/ACLS, National Board Certification (CRNA) Experience: Graduate of accredited school of anesthesia Duties & Responsibilities Administer anesthesia to patients across all age groups in various settings (OR, Cath lab, GI, EP, MRI, CT). Perform general, spinal, regional, and open heart anesthesia as required. Manage patient ventilation, volume status, and blood pressure during procedures. Place arterial lines and monitor hemodynamics. Collaborate with anesthesiologists in a medically directed practice, handling a busy surgical schedule including trauma, neurosurgery, orthopedics, obstetrics, cardiac, and vascular cases.
Key Responsibilities
Administer various types of anesthesia to patients of all ages across multiple clinical settings including the OR and Cath lab. Collaborate with anesthesiologists to manage complex surgical cases involving trauma, neurosurgery, and cardiac procedures.
Requirements
Must be a Board Certified CRNA and a graduate of an accredited anesthesia school with a valid Minnesota RN license. Required certifications include CPR, BCLS/ACLS, and National Board Certification.
