Key Responsibilities
The Social Worker will provide intensive case management for detained immigrants, including creating comprehensive release plans and securing referrals for medical, mental health, housing, and public benefits. This role involves conducting safety planning, crisis intervention, providing supportive counseling, and offering advocacy to help clients achieve stability.
Requirements
Candidates must possess the required license or appropriate certification from an accredited social work program and a minimum of one year of social work experience, along with familiarity with New Jersey resources and public benefit programs. Essential requirements include being bilingual in English and Spanish, the ability to recognize signs of trauma and mental illness, and a commitment to working with diverse multicultural settings.
