Hospice Registered Dietitian - PRN

We are seeking a compassionate Registered Dietitian to join our interdisciplinary hospice team and provide nutritional guidance that supports the goals and wishes of patients and their families.

Position Summary

The Registered Dietitian provides nutritional assessments, recommendations, and education for hospice patients with complex medical conditions. Working closely with physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and hospice aides, the Dietitian helps patients and families make informed decisions that promote comfort and align with the hospice plan of care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nutritional assessments and identify nutrition-related needs.
• Develop individualized nutrition recommendations consistent with hospice goals of care.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team regarding patient care planning.
• Educate patients, caregivers, and staff on nutrition, hydration, symptom management, and comfort-focused feeding approaches.
• Document assessments and recommendations according to agency standards.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings as needed.
• Provide consultation for patients in homes, facilities, and assisted living settings.

Qualifications

• Current Texas Registered Dietitian credential.
• Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field.
• Minimum one year of clinical experience preferred.
• Experience in hospice, home health, geriatrics, oncology, or palliative care preferred.
• Excellent communication and patient education skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
