The Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) will provide alcoholism and substance use disorder counseling services, assisting in assessment and determining appropriate treatment needs using Evidence Based Practices. Core duties include coordinating and implementing treatment plans, providing individual and group therapy, and offering crisis intervention within the scope of certification.
A minimum requirement is an Associate Degree along with a valid current CASAC certification, though CASAC-T or Provisional status is considered if full CASAC is attained within six months. Experience with Group Facilitation, substance abuse counseling, and collaborative treatment planning is preferred.
