Job Description

All About Home Care is a Houston-based home health care agency. We’ve been serving Houston and the surrounding communities since 2004, providing quality home health services. We are currently looking for Occupational Therapists (OTs) to help care for patients across the Greater Houston area, with coverage available in multiple areas including North, South, East, West, and Central Houston. We are also seeking PRN PTAs for The Woodlands and Conroe areas. We use Kinnser software to document patient care.

Qualification

Graduate of an Occupational Therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and/or certified by successfully completing the national Certification examination

  • Currently licensed in the State of Texas
  • Two years of experience in Home Health preferred
  • 1 year experience using Kinnser/WellSky for home health

Responsibilities

  • OT takes initial history and make initial evaluation
  • Assists the physician in evaluating level of function
  • Improves or minimizes residual physical disabilities of the patient
  • Returns the individual to optimum and productive living within the patient’s capabilities
  • Provides prescribed occupational therapy
  • Directs and supervises personnel as required
  • Performs all skilled procedures
  • Consults with physicians regarding change in treatment
  • Writes reports to physicians regarding patient’s progress
  • Instructs patient/family members in home programs and fine motor development exercises

An initial evaluation, including plan of treatment and goals, must be filled out and submitted to the physician for approval. A progress note is written each visit. A re-evaluation is conducted when expected duration of treatment is reached. A summary is written upon patient’s discharge.

  • Prepares clinical and progress notes
  • Advises and consults with the family and other Agency personnel
  • Periodically participates with all other health care personnel in patient care planning

Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Occupational Therapy program and hold a current Texas license. Two years of home health experience is preferred, along with one year of experience using Kinnser or WellSky software.
