Key Responsibilities

The Behavioral Health Nurse provides direct professional nursing care to pediatric patients with behavioral health concerns in accordance with clinical standards and hospital policies. They are responsible for patient assessment, documentation, team collaboration, and the implementation of therapeutic interventions to ensure patient and staff safety.

Requirements

Candidates must hold an Associate degree in Nursing (ASN) at minimum, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred and required within three years. Applicants must possess a current Connecticut Registered Nurse license, BLS certification, and obtain PALS and Crisis Intervention training within specified timeframes.
