Role Summary

Reporting to the VP AquaTactics, the Fish Health Veterinarian/Professional Services Manager supports and grows Bimeda's commercial and technical relationships with aquaculture producers across North America, improving fish health through veterinary services and production medicine. This role carries responsibility for new business development, key account management, technical and diagnostic support, and revenue targets for fish vaccines, pharmaceuticals and health services.

As North American aquaculture continues to intensify, diversify into new species, and adopt data-driven health management, this role is a strategic link between customers, Bimeda and AquaTactics' R&D, digital innovation and commercial teams – helping the business anticipate where the industry is heading rather than only respond to where it is today. This role will act as a trusted field-based technical resource, contribute to wet lab and clinical field trial research of fish health biologicals and pharmaceuticals, and build specialist expertise in fish vaccine development, clinical application and follow-up.

Key Role Specific Requirements

  • Lead the delivery of licensed veterinary services to private and public clients throughout the US and Canada.
  • Provide technical support in fish vaccines and other fish health tools, disease prevention and control, and help clients improve production efficiency and animal welfare outcomes.
  • Represent AquaTactics and Bimeda in industry meetings, professional associations and relevant regulatory or standards forums.
  • Participate in and coordinate clinical trials, including field data collection and basic statistical evaluation of outcomes.
  • Develop trusted, long-term relationships with new and existing clients across hatcheries, farms, feed partners and public agencies.
  • Identify unmet client needs and emerging disease or production challenges, and feed insight into Bimeda and AquaTactics' R&D and product pipeline.
  • Travel extensively to meet with clients across assigned territory, with occasional international travel.
  • Contribute to marketing strategy and campaigns for AquaTactics and Bimeda products and services.
  • Own and deliver the sales budget, including forecasting, pipeline management and regular reporting to management.
  • Identify, negotiate and close new business with hatcheries, farms, feed partners and public agencies.
  • Lead key account planning, pricing and contract discussions with major aquaculture producers.
  • Share technical expertise with colleagues across the professional services and commercial teams, including structured mentoring of newer veterinarians and technical staff.
  • Monitor market, competitor, regulatory and disease trends, and use them to shape territory and product strategy.
  • Contribute fish health and production data to inform predictive, evidence-based recommendations for clients and internal forecasting.
  • Track emerging and alternative aquaculture species and production systems (e. g. land-based/RAS, shellfish, new finfish species) as potential future growth areas for Bimeda's portfolio.

This job description is not exhaustive; the role holder may be required to undertake other relevant duties commensurate with the grading of the post. Activities may be amended over time as the role develops and as priorities and industry requirements evolve.

Essential

  • DVM / VMD and eligible for USA State Veterinary licensure.
  • Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience in the fish health or animal health industry.
  • Proven ability to build and grow long-term customer relationships at farm, hatchery and corporate level.
  • Personable, with the ability to interact and build rapport across different cultures and organizational levels.
  • Strong verbal, presentation and writing skills in English.
  • Proficiency in writing technical documents and translating technical information for a lay audience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office, and comfort learning new digital/CRM or data-reporting platforms.
  • Home-based, with the ability to travel extensively across the US and Canada (up to 50%), with occasional international travel.

Desirable

  • Experience in a fish health veterinary role.
  • Knowledge of fish health diagnostics.
  • Basic statistical knowledge for clinical trials.
  • Business education or experience.
  • Experience selling or supporting vaccines, pharmaceuticals or diagnostics into aquaculture.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting colleagues in a veterinary or technical team.
  • Working knowledge of Spanish, Norwegian or another aquaculture-relevant language.
  • Familiarity with sustainability/certification frameworks relevant to aquaculture (e. g. ASC, BAP) or antimicrobial stewardship programs.
  • Exposure to alternative or emerging aquaculture species and production systems (e. g. land-based/RAS, shellfish).
  • Interest or experience in digital health tools, telemedicine or data analytics applied to animal health.
