LOCATION: RURAL FQHC, OQUAWKA, ILLINOIS,61469
Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Dentist to join our team at a rural Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) located in West Central Illinois. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive dental care to underserved populations, focusing on preventive, restorative, and emergency dental services. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the oral health of the community while working in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform routine dental examinations, diagnoses, and treatment planning.
* Provide preventive care including cleanings, fluoride treatments, and patient education.
* Deliver restorative procedures such as fillings, crowns, bridges, and extractions.
* Manage dental emergencies and provide appropriate follow-up care.
* Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with FQHC and regulatory standards.
* Collaborate with dental hygienists, assistants, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
* Participate in community outreach and education programs to promote oral health awareness.
* Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe clinical environment.
Qualifications
* Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school.
* Valid Illinois dental license in good standing.
* Experience working in a rural or community health setting preferred.
* Knowledge of FQHC operations and compliance is a plus.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
* Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Work Environment
This position is based in a rural community health center serving a diverse patient population. The Dentist will work in a well-equipped clinical setting with access to modern dental technology and support staff.
