Job description
Evaluates, plans, and implements specific treatment programs for individual
patients according to the principles and practices of speech
language pathology. Functions as an interdisciplinary team member providing
patient assessment/re-assessment, direct patient care, and
individualized care planning/implementation. Works with neonatal through
geriatric patients with clinical competency, as applicable.
Completes established competencies for the position within designated
introductory period. Responsible for the administration,
interpretation and evaluation of tests and measurements. Plans and modifies
treatment programs. Other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology/Communication
Sciences and Disorders
PREFERRED EDUCATION: NA
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Completion of Clinical Fellowship.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Competency in performing Modified Barium Swallow Exams.
Competency in
Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES). Spanish Proficiency
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: NEW GRADUATES: Possession of Intern License
from the state
of Texas prior to orientation. ALL OTHERS: Possession of Texas State License
and Certificate of Clinical
Competence (CCC) from American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA)
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: See Preferred Certification Listing
REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e. g., CPR): Must have active American Healthcare
Association
(AHA) Basic Life Support on hire
