Job Description
A partner of the Optum Care network, WellMed Medical Group, is seeking an internal medicine or family medicine physician to join our Paisano clinic location in El Paso, TX. Optum is a clinician-led care organization that is changing the way clinicians work and live.

Position Highlights
Quality vs. quantity – typically see 14 to 16 patients per day
Instead of RVU or volume metrics, our physicians are measured and rewarded on quality of care (physicians earn $50,000 bonus, paid semi-annually)
Start with 184 hours PTO in first year, plus 5 days for CME, and the clinics are closed for 8 national holidays plus 1 floating holiday
Strong clinical support team that includes NPs, PAs, RNs, LVNs, MAs, scribes, nurse educators, case managers, clinic administrators, referral managers, coders, centralized scheduling, nurse advice line, and robust IT
Collaborate with our primary care physicians (IM & FM), hospitalists, and network of employed/contracted sub-specialists

Required Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (M. D.), Doctor of Osteopathy (D. O.), or M. B. B. S.
Board certification or eligibility in Family or Internal Medicine, or currently completing an accredited residency program
- Active, unrestricted medical license in Texas, or the ability to obtain one prior to employment
- Valid DEA license, or the ability to obtain prior to employment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency
- A working understanding and support of a managed care environment
Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $237,500 - $384,000. Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
