Responsibilities

* Conduct thorough dental exams and assessments of patients' oral health.

* Diagnose dental issues such as cavities, gum disease, and other oral conditions.

* Perform a variety of dental procedures including fillings, crowns, extractions, root canals, and preventive care.

* Develop personalized treatment plans for patients and discuss their options.

* Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, diet, and preventive care to promote long-term dental health.

* Maintainaccurateand up-to-date patient records andtreatmenthistories.

* Ensure the sterilization and proper maintenance of all dental tools and equipment.

* Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, infection control protocols, and regulatory requirements.

* Collaborate with dental assistants, hygienists, and other staff to ensure a positive and efficient patient experience.

* Stay current with advancements in dental practices, technology, and treatment methods.

* Other duties asrequired.

Required Skills/Abilities

* Strongproficiencyin performing a wide range of dental procedures such as cleanings, fillings, extractions, crowns, root canals, and preventive treatments.

* Ability to diagnose and treat dental conditions accurately and efficiently.

* Skilled in the use of dental tools and equipment, ensuring safe and effective treatment delivery.

* Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills to perform intricate dental procedures with precision and care.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly explain procedures, treatment options, and preventive care to patients.

* Ability to build rapport with patients, making them feel comfortable and well-informed.

* Ability to assess, diagnose, and devise appropriate treatment plans based on patient needs and clinical observations.

* Proficiency in identifying potential complications and making quick decisions to adjust treatment as needed.

* An abilityto manage anxious or nervous patients and provide reassurance and comfort.

* Ability tomaintainaccuratepatient records, track treatment progress, and document all necessary clinical information.

* Effective time management skills to handle a busy patient schedule and ensuretimely delivery of dental services.

* Collaborative attitude to foster a positive and efficient work environment.

* Willingness to stay current with advancements in the dental field through continuing education and professional development.

* Knowledge of health and safety regulations and ability to apply them in daily practices.

* Understanding ofoffice protocols and ability to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

* Regular and predictable onsite attendance.

Education/Experience

* Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school.

* Valid state licensure to practice dentistry.

* Experience with a wide range of dental procedures is preferred but notrequired.

Physical Demands

Dentists must have excellent manual dexterity and coordination to perform precise dental procedures, often requiring prolonged periods of sitting or standing. The role demands physical stamina and endurance to complete multiple procedures throughout the day. Dentists may experience neck, back, and shoulder strain from leaning over patients and repetitive motion injuries from frequent use of dental tools. Sharp visual acuity is needed for diagnosing and performing treatments in confined spaces. Additionally, working long hours and handling dental equipment requires both physical strength and endurance. Proper ergonomics and breaks are essential to managing these physical demands.

PanCare provides a comprehensive benefits package to include medical, dental and vision insurance. In addition, to health coverage, we offer 14 paid holidays and 3 weeks of paid vacation per year. Our providers are also eligible to participate in our 403(b) plan with a 6% employer match and 3% base employer contribution. We also offer a 457(b) deferred compensation plan for those that max out their 403(b) annually. This plan provides a 50% employer match up to $7,500 per year.  This position also qualifies for student loan forgiveness through HRSA and FRAME.
