About the Role

Tap Management Company LLC is looking for a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our interventional pain management team in Wichita, KS. Our pupose is simple: to serve people who are hurting.

Through a detalied history, focused examination, careful review of diagnostic information, and patient education, we develop individualized plans that balance safety, effectiveness, and each patients goals.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will manage patients with acute and chronic pain conditions across the continuum of care. Responsibilities include:

Perform comprehensive new-patient and follow-up evaluations, including detailed histories and focused physical examinations.

Assess and manage conditions such as spinal pain, radiculopathy, neuropathic pain, arthritis, musculoskeletal pain, complex regional pain syndrome, and other chronic pain disorders.

Review imaging, laboratory results, prior treatment records, prescription-monitoring data, and other relevant clinical information.

Develop individualized, multimodal treatment plans, physical rehabilitation, behavioral health strategies, lifestyle interventions, and interventional procedures.

Educate patients and families about diagnoses, realistic treatment goals, procedure expectations, medication safety, and self-management strategies.

Evaluate patients before and after interventional procedures and monitor their clinical response, functional improvement, and treatment outcomes.

Perform office-based procedures within the APP’s demonstrated competency, applicable scope of practice, and practice protocols. Procedures may include joint, bursal, and trigger-point injections.

Prescribe and manage medications responsibly, including controlled substances when clinically appropriate and permitted by law and practice policy.

Apply consistent risk-mitigation practices, including treatment agreements, toxicology screening, prescription-monitoring review, pill counts, and documentation of medical necessity when appropriate.

Identify medication misuse, substance-use concerns, behavioral health needs, and other clinical risks, coordinating referrals or escalation of care as needed.

Collaborate closely with physicians, fellow APPs, clinical staff, physical therapists, behavioral health professionals, and referring providers.

Maintain timely, accurate, and defensible clinical documentation that supports quality care, continuity, and regulatory compliance.

Participate in quality-improvement initiatives, clinical education, and the continued development of practice protocols.

The Clinician We’re Looking For

The strongest candidate will bring sound clinical judgment, confidence, empathy, and a disciplined approach to pain management. You should be comfortable caring for medically and psychosocially complex patients while maintaining appropriate boundaries and clear treatment expectations.

Required Qualifications

Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse/Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Kansas, or eligibility to obtain Kansas licensure.

  • Current national board certification through an appropriate certifying organization.
  • Graduate degree from an accredited nurse practitioner or physician assistant program.
  • Current DEA registration, or eligibility to obtain one, if required for the position.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and manage chronic pain using multimodal, evidence-based treatment strategies.
  • Experience with medication management and responsible controlled-substance prescribing.
  • Strong clinical documentation, communication, and patient-education skills.
  • Ability to work independently while recognizing when physician consultation or escalation is appropriate.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, regulatory compliance, patient safety, and respectful care.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience in an interventional pain management practice.
  • Two or more years of specialty APP experience.
  • Experience evaluating patients for spine and pain procedures and managing post-procedure follow-up.
  • Competency performing office-based musculoskeletal or pain procedures.
  • Familiarity with urine drug testing, prescription-monitoring programs, opioid risk assessment, and controlled-substance agreements.
  • Experience interpreting spine and musculoskeletal imaging reports.
  • Leadership, mentoring, or clinical program-development experience.
