Position Overview: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

Coverage Duration

Immediate start for 3 months (13 weeks) with the option for extension.

Work Environment

Both hospital and ambulatory surgery center settings.

Facility Size

• Hospital: 460 beds with 17 operating rooms (ORs) and 3 labor and delivery (L&D) rooms.
• Ambulatory Surgery Center: 5 ORs.

Shifts/Scheduling

• Predominantly Monday to Friday with potential coverage on weekends, maximum once per month.
• Shift structure: Options for 5x8 or 4x10, either 11 PM to 7:30 AM or 9 PM to 7:30 AM.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Competence with healthy pediatric patients is essential; obstetric (OB) experience preferred but not mandatory.
• Candidates should ideally be capable of managing a full range of anesthesia cases, although this is not a requirement.
• Focus on lower-acuity pediatric cases, with no critical pediatric patients as care is provided by dedicated pediatric anesthesiologists.

• Case types include orthopedic, pediatric, urological, gastrointestinal (GI), interventional radiology, head and neck, catheterization lab, spinal procedures, and epidurals.

Call Requirements

No call obligations.

Patient Volume/Census

Patient load contingent on scheduled cases for the day.

Staffing Ratio

1:1 CRNA to anesthesiologist ratio per shift, supported by available staff.

Electronic Medical Records (EMR)

EPIC system utilized.

Certification Requirements

Candidates must possess current Board Certification, along with BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications per American Heart Association standards.

Licensing Candidates

No consideration for licensing candidates will be entertained.
