The Community

Rumford, Maine, is a historic mill town in the western Maine mountains that blends small-town character with easy access to some of the state's best outdoor recreation, making it a rewarding place to work and call home.

The town is built around Rumford Falls on the Androscoggin River, a dramatic waterfall that once powered one of the region's largest paper mills and still anchors the local landscape and economy today.

Rumford is the birthplace of Edmund Muskie, the longtime U.S. senator and secretary of state, and the town's history is woven throughout its historic downtown.

Outdoor enthusiasts are just minutes from Black Mountain of Maine for skiing and only about 20 to 30 minutes from Sunday River, one of New England's largest ski resorts.

Residents enjoy four true seasons, from brilliant fall foliage to snowy winters, with the White Mountains National Forest and the artsy mountain town of Bethel both a short drive away.

Portland is roughly an hour and a half to two hours south, offering coastal dining, culture, and Maine's largest airport.

Boston is about three hours away, putting the Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins, and Patriots within reach for a weekend trip.
