We are seeking an experienced, Board-Certified AP/CP Pathologist to join our established Modesto team, serving a highly respected regional medical center with which YPMG has maintained a trusted partnership for decades.

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident, well-rounded pathologist who enjoys a diverse and intellectually stimulating case mix, values strong clinical relationships, and wants to be part of a collaborative, physician-led practice where their expertise and contributions truly matter.

The Opportunity

Practice Pathology Where Your Expertise Makes an Impact

Our Modesto practice supports a prominent, award-winning regional medical center serving patients throughout California's Central Valley. As a Level II Trauma Center with advanced surgical capabilities and comprehensive specialty services, the hospital offers a dynamic clinical environment with a broad spectrum of pathology cases.

The medical center provides advanced services across numerous specialties, including oncology, vascular and orthopedic surgery, women's health, cardiovascular care, and pulmonary medicine.

  • As part of our pathology team, you'll have the opportunity to:
  • Practice a diverse range of anatomic and clinical pathology in a busy, multidisciplinary hospital environment.
  • Interpret challenging and complex cases across multiple surgical specialties.
  • Build meaningful professional relationships with surgeons, oncologists, and other clinical specialists.
  • Collaborate with experienced pathologists who value teamwork, diagnostic excellence, and shared expertise.
  • Play an integral role in supporting high-quality patient care and advancing pathology services.

We're looking for more than someone to fill a position. We're looking for a colleague who wants to contribute their expertise, strengthen our clinical partnerships, and grow with our organization.

Your Role

As a member of Yosemite Pathology Medical Group, you will:

  • Deliver accurate, timely diagnoses across a broad spectrum of surgical and clinical pathology specimens.
  • Provide expert consultation and communicate the medical significance of laboratory findings to referring physicians.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to support informed treatment decisions and exceptional patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Contribute to a collegial practice environment built on professional respect, collaboration, and clinical excellence.

Qualifications

  • Board Certification in Anatomic Pathology (AP) and Clinical Pathology (CP) required
  • Active California medical license or eligibility to obtain one
  • Established experience in a hospital-based or private pathology practice strongly preferred
  • Broad diagnostic expertise and confidence in independent sign-out
  • Fellowship training in a surgical pathology subspecialty, such as GI, Breast, Gynecologic, Cytopathology, or Hematopathology, highly desirable
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills
  • Commitment to diagnostic accuracy, efficiency, and exceptional patient care
