Key Responsibilities

The pharmacist oversees pharmaceutical care by evaluating literature, designing medication therapy regimens, and providing patient counseling on medication use and adverse effects. Responsibilities also include reviewing orders, participating in medical emergencies, supporting medication safety initiatives, and collaborating with the healthcare team on formulary adherence.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s or Doctorate degree in pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited school is required, along with licensure in the state of practice and necessary certifications/credentialing. While no experience is required, two years as an internal medicine clinical pharmacist or PGY-1 residency is preferred, with PGY-2 residency strongly preferred.
