Reports To: Pharmacy Director FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Position Function: Clinical Classification: Temporary, On-Call Schedule: Varies, On-Call as needed Monday - Friday Location: Onsite, position may be assigned to work at both IHC locations SUMMARY: Directs and coordinates activities and functions of clinic pharmacy by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate department staff members. Assures that all activity is in full compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations. Position requires close cooperation and coordination with the department director, the department staff, and other clinic personnel. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The information in this job description indicates the general nature and level of work performed. Plan and implement procedures in clinic pharmacy according to clinic policies and legal requirements. 2. Analyze records to indicate prescribing trends and excessive usage. 3. Attend staff meetings to advise and inform clinic medical staff of drug applications and characteristics. 4. Observe pharmacy personnel at work and develop quality assurance techniques to ensure safe, legal, and ethical practices. 5. Accurately prepare and dispense medication orders for patients. 6. Evaluate patient profile and comprehensive drug data file to evaluate orders for any incompatibilities. 7. Provide pharmacy consultation and updating information on medications to clinical staff. 8. Maintain a current formulary of medications authorized for clinical use. 9. Maintain a current inventory of medications and checks prescriptions for completeness. 10. Ensure all legal and professional requirements are adhered to for narcotics and other controlled substances. 11. Maintain knowledge of the 340B Program and policies and procedures. 12. Monitor employees to ensure adherence to 340B policies and procedures essential to maintaining program compliance. 13. Assure the pharmacy facilities are kept in an orderly and in a secure manner. 14. Assure completion of pharmacy records and reports as required. 15. Maintain computerized patient profiling, pricing, and labeling. 16. Maintain patient confidentiality. Shall be trained in areas of privacy protection that are specific to the pharmacy environment, facility, and practice. 17. Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested. 18. Position may be re-assigned during activation of EOP. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities. TRAVEL & DRIVING REQUIREMENTS

• Driving is not required for this position. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
• 1-2 years pharmacy experience. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
• Knowledge of pharmacology principles, practices, and techniques needed to direct the operation of the pharmacy department.
• Knowledge of pharmaceuticals is needed to recognize and advise prescribers of potential problems and to advise patients on measurement and timing of dosages, use of multiple medications, and problem side effects.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of employee development needed to train, delegate, and mentor staff.
• Knowledge of medical safety standards.
• Skill in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situations.
• Skill in identifying problems, and the skill to research and identify effective resolutions.
• Skill in preparing records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence.
• Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance.
• Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making.
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, staff, and the public. Ability to establish quality control standards.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, organize, and direct the work of others.
• Productivity Software: Microsoft Office 365; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email & Calendar Management (outlook), Teams (video conferencing and meetings), and Share Point.
• Pharmacy management software (PioneerRx preferred)
• Electronic health records software (EPIC MyChart/QSI preferred).
• Utilization of Paycom, Paycom Learning, and PolicyTech systems. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, MEMBERSHIPS AND REGULATIONS
• Must possess a current valid pharmacist license issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
• Current BLS CPR certification or attainment within 6 months of hire.
• Applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment physical exam, tuberculin skin test or x-ray and urine drug screen test.
• Applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide proof of vaccination (unless previously provided an IHC exemption).
• Health must be adequate to perform all duties of the position.
