Behavioral Health Specialist

Key Responsibilities

The Behavioral Health Specialist I provides direct care and ensures the safety of children and adolescents within an interdisciplinary treatment team setting. Responsibilities include implementing the day-to-day therapeutic milieu schedule, observing and documenting patient progress, and intervening in disruptive or destructive situations.

Requirements

A minimum of six months of direct childcare work with emotionally impaired youth is required, although a Baccalaureate Degree in a Human Service field is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to remain calm during crises, utilize de-escalation techniques, and physically manage patients, including lifting up to fifty pounds.
