Rheumatology Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Adult Physician Assistant (PA)

Coverage Dates

February start date, pending credentialing; position duration of 1 year.

Practice Setting

Outpatient clinic.

Schedule Details

Shifts

• Monday & Friday: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (8-hour shifts with a 30-minute lunch)
• Tuesday: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM (4-hour shift)

Total Weekly Hours

20 hours.

Clinical Responsibilities

• The advanced practice provider (APP) will inherit an existing panel from the current Rheumatology NP.
• Required competencies include specific experience in Rheumatology, including the management of Rheumatologic diagnoses and treatment plans, as well as proficiency in administering Trigger Point Injections.

Call Coverage

No on-call responsibilities.

Patient Volume

Anticipated census of approximately 16 patients per day (8 patients per 4-hour block), with time allocations of 40 minutes for new consultations and 20 minutes for follow-up appointments.

The APP will be responsible for documentation in EPIC Health Connect during clinical hours, as well as managing in-basket communications including emails and lab results.

Team Structure

Details regarding the number of providers per shift and support staff will be provided upon request.

Electronic Medical Record (EMR)

EPIC system utilized for patient documentation.

Credentialing Timeline

Estimated credentialing duration of 90 days from application submission.

Qualifications

• Mandatory certifications include Board Certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
• An active California state license is required for practice.
