Job Description

The Mount Sinai Health System is currently seeking a full-time Emergency Room
Consultation Psychiatrist.

The position will be working in the Mount Sinai Health System Emergency room via
telemedicine.  The position will consist of meeting with patients individually
then evaluating the patients' symptoms and treatment course, arranging admission
or discharge when appropriate, completing appropriate documentation and working
closely with members of the system emergency room teams, including physicians,
social workers, and nursing staff.

This position will also work closely with the Clinical Command Center, to help
facilitate transfers of psychiatric patients and optimize patient flow within in
the health system.

Key Responsibilities

The psychiatrist will conduct remote evaluations of emergency room patients to determine treatment courses and admission or discharge status. They will also collaborate with the Clinical Command Center to facilitate patient transfers and optimize flow within the health system.

Requirements

Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in psychiatry and possess a valid New York State medical license. Additionally, applicants must meet the qualifications for an assistant professor level or higher.
