Job Description

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai affiliated with New York City H + H/Queens has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Chief of Psychiatry.

New York City H + H/Queens serves a multi-cultural population of adults, children and families. We offer a full array of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services: adult inpatient units, a Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP), a Mobile Crisis Unit, Adult Partial Hospitalization Program, Ambulatory Adult and Child Services, Assertive Community treatment programs, Collaborative care programs and Addiction Services.

Responsibilities

The Associate Chief is a leadership position with the overall responsibility for the administration, planning, organizing and general management of adult outpatient services -Adult Mental Health Clinic, 2 ACT programs, collaborative program with Primary Care as well as new initiatives including Bridge to Home (transitional housing initiative) and Women’s Mental Health initiative with OB/GYN services.

In addition, there is an opportunity to serve as the Associate Program Director for our recently approved Psychiatry Residency Program. We are currently in our second year and will be preparing for new PGY3 residents to join the ambulatory care service in July 2027. This position will require a strong interest and experience with residency training.

Qualifications

Candidates must have an MD/DO degree and be Board Certified with a valid New York State License, DEA and Medicaid number.

Qualified candidates should have strong clinical abilities, leadership experience in ambulatory care settings, psychiatry resident and medical school teaching experience, communication and interpersonal skills.

Prior management/leadership positions and experience with academic medical centers and/or public health systems is preferred. Direct clinical work with our clients will be expected.

Compensation

We also offer a faculty appointment with the Icahn School of Medical at Mount Sinai commensurate with credentials, experience and qualifications. This is an excellent opportunity to join our new psychiatry residency program, now in its second year as a faculty member and possible mentor.

Mount Sinai/Queens offers a collegial environment and competitive salary ranging from 271K to 309K that may include a sign on bonus along with full benefits.
