Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Physical Therapist, you will help patients rebuild or maintain their physical wellbeing so they can function at their best level, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life. Every day you will perform initial evaluations, develop and update individualized plans of care, and provide a variety of direct treatments. You will be expected to consistently meet patient care productivity standards, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and families, and promote a positive customer service environment. To be successful in this role, you must possess strong age-appropriate competency skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative, patient-centered approach to care.
Identifies and reports patient abuse and neglect i. e.: physical assault, domestic abuse and neglect of elders and children.
Conducts annual performance reviews as assigned by Therapy Manager/Supervisor and works to assist employees in improving job performance. (NA - per diem)
Accurately identifies patient's functional deficits/dysfunction through review of the medical record, through observation of the patient, through information obtained from the patient/family, and through manual muscle testing, range of motion testing, postural analysis, functional analysis and other physical therapy assessment techniques. Accurately interprets the physician's order.
Communicates regularly with other members of the healthcare team regarding goals, progress and rehab potential. Works as a collaborative member of the treatment team. Attends any necessary and appropriate patient care meetings, such as mini rounds, weekly patient care conference, weekly NICU discharge meetings, etc. Maintains current skills and competency by attending at least one continuing education course annually and at least one department/hospital in-service a month (NA - per diem).
Terminates treatment appropriately and plans for the patient's discharge in adequate time for appropriate referrals to be made. Makes appropriate recommendations for referrals at next level of care, including outpatient therapy, home health and MTU.

4-6 years Minimum of five (5) years clinical experience; evidence of extensive training in a given specialty area. Specialty areas may include but not be limited to: neuro rehabilitation, orthopedics, pediatrics, cardiac rehabilitation, hand rehabilitation, pain management and work hardening., upon hire
