As a Licensed Social Worker at New Story Schools, you will provide counseling, case management, and crisis support to help students navigate behavioral, academic, personal, and social challenges. You’ll build meaningful relationships with students and families, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and provide individualized support that helps students make progress toward their goals.
What You’ll Need
Active Licensed Social Worker (LSW) credential
Experience providing counseling or related services to children or adolescents
Knowledge of education regulations, behavior modification techniques, and mental health services and supports
Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and relationship-building skills
Ability to complete required professional training and maintain applicable licensure and certifications
What You’ll Do
Provide individual and group counseling, case management, crisis intervention, and individualized support based on student needs and goals
Support student intake, goal setting, progress reviews, transition and discharge planning, and ongoing communication with families and school partners
Maintain timely, accurate documentation of counseling services, student progress, interventions, communications, and required reports
Collaborate with educational and clinical teams to address attendance, academics, behavior, social-emotional development, and transition needs
Respond to behavioral and mental health needs using appropriate de-escalation, crisis-response, referral, and safety procedures while maintaining a structured, supportive environment
