Job Description

Vet-Owned. People-First.

AcutePet Urgent Care is seeking an experienced, collaborative veterinarian to serve as the Managing Veterinarian of our Beavercreek hospital - the very first location in the AcutePet story.

This is more than a leadership role. It’s an opportunity to help guide the hospital that helped define who we are today while partnering with an experienced Practice Manager, an exceptional medical team, and a leadership group deeply committed to supporting both people and medicine.

Why Beavercreek?

Beavercreek isn’t just another hospital—it’s where the AcutePet story began.

As our flagship location, Beavercreek has helped shape the culture, medical standards, and collaborative approach that continue to influence our hospitals today. It has earned the trust of pet owners and referring veterinarians throughout the Dayton community by providing accessible, high-quality urgent care delivered by a team that genuinely enjoys working together.

You’ll step into an established hospital with experienced doctors, skilled technicians and assistants, and a Practice Manager who is committed to building a positive, people-first culture. Rather than starting from scratch, you’ll have the opportunity to build upon a strong foundation while helping shape the next chapter of the hospital’s growth.

Just as importantly, you’ll work in close partnership with AcutePet’s Chief Medical Officer—a board-certified criticalist—who serves as a mentor, collaborator, and resource for our medical leaders. Together, you’ll help support clinical excellence, develop our veterinary teams, and continue strengthening the medicine across AcutePet.

Your Impact

As Managing Veterinarian, you’ll provide meaningful clinical leadership while continuing to practice medicine. You’ll help support the development of doctors and medical team members, strengthen clinical standards, guide hospital workflows, and foster a culture where people feel supported, accountable, and proud of the care they provide.

This is a leadership role that allows you to remain connected to patient care while having a lasting impact on your team, your hospital, and the future of AcutePet.

  • What You’ll Do
  • Partner closely with the Practice Manager to lead the hospital’s people, culture, and daily operations.
  • Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and support to veterinarians and medical team members.

Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer on medical quality, clinical standards, training, and professional development.

  • Help create consistency in workflows, communication, and the patient and client experience.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, mentoring, and well-being of veterinary team members.
  • Practice high-quality urgent care medicine alongside the team you lead.
  • Encourage thoughtful decision-making, continuous learning, and a sustainable approach to veterinary medicine.
  • What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a veterinarian who is confident in medicine, grounded in leadership, and genuinely invested in helping others succeed.

The right person understands that great leadership isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about creating clarity, building trust, coaching others, and helping an already strong team continue to grow.

Previous leadership experience is welcomed, but we’re equally interested in veterinarians who have naturally become mentors, culture-builders, and trusted clinical leaders within their hospitals.

Why AcutePet?

AcutePet was founded by veterinarians who believed urgent care could be practiced with both clinical excellence and a sustainable approach to the profession.

Our hospitals provide ER-style case variety without overnight shifts, supported by experienced teams, thoughtful leadership, and a people-first culture where collaboration matters as much as clinical skill.

As the Managing Veterinarian in Beavercreek, you’ll have the opportunity to honor the foundation built by our first AcutePet team while helping shape what comes next—not only for one hospital, but for the continued growth of our organization.
