Atrium Health Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute – Charlotte, is currently seeking a Full-Time Adult Cardiovascular Surgery Advanced Practice Provider to join their established practice in Charlotte, NC. You'll be joining a great team atmosphere with opportunities for autonomy. Our surgeons are readily available and easy to work with. Our busy practice provides plenty of opportunities for continued growth while remaining centrally location.
Practice Highlights
Two distinct surgery service lines, cardiothoracic and vascular surgery with 29 physicians across SHVI and APP led teams across three sites.
- More than 1500 complex procedures performed among the different surgery service lines.
- The practice is structured with inpatient, outpatient and surgical teams and utilizes a closed CTICU

Job Summary
Provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, referral, and consultation in collaboration with a supervising physician.
Maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the age, developmental stages, and special needs of the patients served.
Candidate must be able to work independently and efficiently with strong decision-making skills. Strong communication skills a must. Will be working with a variety of MDs, APPs and ancillary staff for inpatient management and coordination of patient care.
Shifts: Nocturnist - 12hr shifts. rotating schedule 7on-7off with 14-off every 3rd cycle.
Multiple providers to allow for flexibility to schedule
Weekends, Holidays required. No Call. Travel to other sites may rarely be required.
No OR responsibilities, but exposure to OR setting possible
Procedures, including bedside talc pleurodesis, autologous blood patch, TPA instillation, chest tube removal, pericardial drain removal, and wound vac placements.
Ideal Candidates
Graduated from an accredited NP or PA program AND maintain a current license to practice as an NP or PA in North Carolina. Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license required. BLS/ACLS Certified.
- Physician Assistants: certification from the NCCPA required
- Nurse Practitioners: Acute Care NP Certification required
- Experience in cardiology, cardiothoracic or vascular surgery preferred
