Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including diagnostic evaluations, mental status examinations, psychosocial histories, and risk assessments.
- Diagnose psychiatric conditions in accordance with DSM criteria and evidence-based practices.
- Prescribe, manage, and monitor psychotropic medications, including assessment of effectiveness, adherence, and side effects.
- Provide crisis intervention, including suicide and violence risk assessment and safety planning.
Requirements
- Licensed and registered Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in New York State.
- Board certified as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
- Active DEA registration and NPI number.
- Eligible to enroll and bill Medicaid, Managed Medicaid, and Commercial Insurance.
