Student Health Services – Shared Independent Contractor Appointment

Chestnut Hill College & Manor College

Location: Philadelphia & Jenkintown, PA (On-Site at Both Campuses)

Compensation: $60.00–$63.00 per hour, commensurate with experience

Schedule: 40 hours per week (20 hours at each institution)

Position Summary

Chestnut Hill College and Manor College seek an experienced, compassionate, and collaborative Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) to provide comprehensive Student Health Services through a shared independent contractor appointment.

This unique opportunity combines direct clinical practice at Chestnut Hill College with clinical and operational leadership at Manor College. The successful candidate will exercise a high degree of clinical autonomy while partnering with campus leaders to promote student wellness, support public health initiatives, and foster healthy campus communities.

Services are generally provided during the academic year (August through Commencement), offering an attractive schedule for clinicians seeking alignment with the academic calendar.

Position Highlights

Chestnut Hill College

Serve as the primary clinical provider for Student Health Services, working collaboratively with the Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver comprehensive healthcare services, promote student wellness, and support Student Health Services operations.

Manor College

Serve as the Director of Student Health Services, providing comprehensive clinical care while leading the day-to-day operations of the health center, wellness initiatives, regulatory compliance, and departmental planning.

Primary Responsibilities

* Provide primary, preventive, urgent, and episodic healthcare services to students.

* Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and prescribe medications within the CRNP scope of practice.

* Lead Student Health Services operations at Manor College while collaborating with the Registered Nurse to support operations at Chestnut Hill College.

* Promote student wellness through health education, prevention, and public health initiatives.

* Maintain confidential health records and ensure compliance with HIPAA and applicable regulations.

* Build collaborative partnerships with campus departments, healthcare providers, and community partners.

Required Qualifications

* Active Pennsylvania Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) license with prescriptive authority.

* Must maintain all professional licenses, certifications, and insurance necessary to perform services as an independent contractor.

* Successful completion of all required pre-engagement background checks, including criminal history and any other legally required clearances, is required as a condition of appointment.

* Current CPR/AED certification and other certifications required by law.

* Professional liability (malpractice) insurance.

* Experience providing primary healthcare services.

* Excellent clinical, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in college or university Student Health Services.

* Experience in primary care, ambulatory care, urgent care, or community health.

* Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

* Knowledge of wellness programming, regulatory compliance, or public health initiatives.

* Independent Contractor appointment

* 40 hours per week:

* 20 hours at Chestnut Hill College

* 20 hours at Manor College

* Services are generally provided during the academic year (August through Commencement).

* Limited compensated responsibilities outside the academic calendar, including periodic email monitoring and support for enrollment, immunization compliance, accreditation, emergency preparedness, and other mutually agreed-upon institutional needs.

* Occasional consultation outside of regularly scheduled on-site hours may be required. Approved after-hours consultation services may be invoiced at the agreed-upon hourly rate or, by mutual agreement, offset through adjustments to scheduled on-site service hours during the same workweek.

* Travel between both campuses is required.
