Job Description
Productivity benchmarks aren’t part of the job.
NPs who thrive in their own practices don’t accept the modern reality of healthcare. They create a new one. If you want to run visits your way, with warmth, kindness, and medicine the way you know it should be delivered, you’ll feel at home here.
You already know the kind of care you want to give.
Maybe you’ve felt it at the end of a long shift, after a visit that was rushed when it shouldn’t have been. Maybe you have a patient population you love and a way of caring for them that doesn’t fit someone else’s schedule. Maybe you’ve been picturing a practice of your own in Connecticut for years, and the paperwork, payer contracts, and billing are the only things standing in the way.
That’s where we come in.
Kinstead helps nurse practitioners across Connecticut open their own insurance-based practices. You bring the care. We handle everything behind it, so you can spend your time with your patients.
What’s Yours
Your practice. Your name, your brand, your website, your reviews.
Your patients. These relationships belong to you, always.
Your schedule. Full-time, part-time, telehealth, in person, or a mix. You decide how long a visit takes.
Your way of practicing. Women’s health, mental health, primary care, or something only you could build. There are no panel quotas and no minimum patient volume.
- What we take off your plate
- Credentialing with Medicare, Medicaid, and major commercial payers
- Payer contracts, billing, and collections
- Your website, branding, and Google profile
- Your EHR, scheduling, and practice tools, plus training
- Ongoing support from a team that picks up the phone
How You Get Paid
You earn a set rate for every visit, paid monthly. If an insurance company is slow to pay, or doesn’t pay, that’s our problem, not yours.
Our top practices earn around $100–$150 per clinical hour, with the potential to earn around $250,000 annually in a full-time practice.
No fine print
No minimums
No Exit Fee
If it isn’t right for you, either of us can step away with 60 days’ notice, and your patients and your brand go with you.
How It Works
We talk. A real conversation about what you want to build, not a sales pitch.
We plan it together. Your location, your patients, your care model.
We get you credentialed. You keep doing your current work while we do ours.
You open your doors. Most NPs see their first patients within about 60 days.
- You might be a fit if
- You’ve ever thought, “I could do this better on my own”
- You care deeply about your patients and want the time to show it
- You’re ready to build something that’s yours, with a team behind you
- What you’ll need
- An active Connecticut NP license
- National board certification
- 2+ years of experience as a practicing NP in your clinical specialty
- Eligibility for independent practice in Connecticut
- Not sure if you’re ready?
That’s okay. Many of the NPs we work with weren’t sure either. Reach out, tell us what you’re picturing, and we’ll figure out the right next step together.
Key Responsibilities
You will establish and manage your own independent insurance-based practice with support for credentialing, billing, and administrative tasks. You are responsible for delivering high-quality patient care while maintaining full autonomy over your schedule and clinical approach.
Requirements
Candidates must hold an active Connecticut Nurse Practitioner license and national board certification. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a practicing NP in your clinical specialty is required.
