Job Title: Behavioral Health Technician
Job Type: Full-Time | Day
Schedule: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM

How You'll Contribute
A Behavioral Health Technician who excels in this role:
* Provides support to the therapeutic milieu under the direction of the
Registered Nurse (RN).
* Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment through routine patient
observations, safety checks, contraband searches, and one-to-one supervision
as needed.
* Monitors patients and promptly reports medical, emotional, or psychiatric
changes to nursing staff.
* Obtains vital signs, collects specimens, documents care, and performs
delegated patient care activities.
* Assists with patient admissions, including belongings inventory, safety
assessments, and admission vital signs.
* Encourages and assists patients with activities of daily living, including
personal hygiene and self-care.
* Accompanying patients to meals, appointments, activities, and approved
off-unit visits.
* Facilitates and co-facilitates psychoeducational and therapeutic groups using
established guidelines.
* Utilizes crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to support patient
and staff safety.
* Performs environmental and safety rounds to maintain a clean, organized, and
therapeutic treatment setting.
* Collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team to support
individualized patient care plans.
* Participates in required education, competency validation, and performance
improvement activities.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For
Education
* High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Experience
* Previous experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility preferred.
* Experience working with chemical dependency, dual-diagnosis, psychiatric, or
geriatric populations preferred.
Certifications
* CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
* De-escalation certification required within 30 days of hire.
Required Skills
* Strong observation and communication skills.
* Ability to recognize and report changes in patient condition.
* Knowledge of therapeutic communication techniques.
* Ability to remain calm and effective during crisis situations.
* Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
* Ability to work independently while maintaining patient safety.

Key Responsibilities
The Behavioral Health Technician provides direct patient support, monitors patient safety, and assists with daily living activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse. They also facilitate therapeutic groups and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support individualized patient care plans.
Requirements
Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED and previous experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility is preferred. Required certifications include CPR and de-escalation training, which must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
