Key Responsibilities
The Surgical Nurse Practitioner provides diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative care across peri-operative settings under a surgeon's supervision. Key duties include acting as a first assistant in surgery, managing trauma patients, and coordinating post-operative care and discharge planning.
Requirements
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited APRN program with current Ohio RN and APRN licensure and prescribing authority. BLS and ACLS certifications are required, with RNFA certification preferred for those seeking first assist privileges.
