The Psychiatric Technician will observe, report, and document changes in patient behavior, interact therapeutically with patients, and assist in various group activities like social, recreational, and patient teaching groups. Responsibilities also include making frequent rounds on assigned patients and responding with empathy while maintaining dignity and confidentiality.
A High School Diploma or GED is required, though a Bachelor's degree is preferred, along with relevant patient care experience in a hospital setting being preferred. Candidates must possess good therapeutic communication skills and obtain CPI certification within 90 days of hire, in addition to meeting BLS requirements.
