Key Responsibilities

The Senior Pharmacist – AMS is the hospital's lead clinician for the Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) program, responsible for supervising and coordinating antimicrobial therapy across the facility. This role involves collaborating with Infectious Diseases physicians to introduce and maintain anti-infective practice guidelines and leading engagement with peers, medical officers, and nursing staff regarding effective antimicrobial use.

Requirements

Candidates must possess current registration as a Pharmacist with AHPRA and have a minimum of three years of experience as a registered Hospital Pharmacist, including experience in antimicrobial stewardship or quality use of medicines. Essential requirements also include demonstrated effective communication, organizational, interpersonal skills, and proven capacity for advanced leadership in managing a complex workload.
