Job Description
Position Title Unit Coordinator (Charge Nurse) - Internal Medicine Nights - Full Time Cambridge Tower A Position Summary / Career Interest: CA8 - Cambridge 8th floor Internal Medicine PCU 7p-7a Provides charge nurse responsibilities, including assignments, management of throughput, staffing to matrix, and responding to patient and staff needs. Manages a patient care assignment as indicated by patient care needs. Assists with hiring, education and performance evaluation of the staff. Works with the Nurse Manager and Human Resources in performance management counseling and discipline of staff. Instructs staff and ensures compliance with standards through daily on-going monitoring and performance management. Serves as a role model and mentor for excellence in clinical practice and patient and employee satisfaction. Takes personal responsibility for achieving productivity targets and budget compliance. Has primary involvement and responsibility for unit performance improvement activities and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
The Unit Coordinator provides charge nurse responsibilities, including managing assignments, throughput, staffing, and responding to patient and staff needs while also managing a patient care assignment. This role assists with staff hiring, education, performance evaluation, and works with management on counseling and discipline.
Requirements
A High School Graduate is required, with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred or required based on the hire date (BSN required for nurses hired after November 1, 2025). A minimum of two years of clinical experience is preferred, and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification along with a Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) license are required.
