Job Description
Registered Dietician (R.D.) provides medical nutrition therapy to pediatric patients (from infancy to age 18 years) who may be well or acutely, critically and chronically ill. Serves as a resource for caregivers patients, and their families. Assesses the nutritional status of patients.
Develops, documents and implements the nutritional plan based on the assessment results. Effectively counsel patients and families for improved nutritional outcomes. Participates with interdisciplinary teams to promote nutritional care. Develops and presents educational in-services to the medical team.

Key Responsibilities
The Registered Dietitian provides medical nutrition therapy to pediatric patients, ranging from infancy to age 18, who may be well or critically ill. Responsibilities include assessing nutritional status, developing and implementing nutritional plans, counseling patients and families, and participating in interdisciplinary teams.
Requirements
A Bachelor or Master of Science in Nutrition or completion of a Didactic Program in Dietetics leading to registration eligibility is required, along with American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification. Registration as a Dietitian (R.D.) with CDR is preferred and required within six months of hire, and two to five years of pediatric experience is preferred.
